Hawk Rescued in Chestnut Ridge


Ramapo Police Department was called to rescue an injured hawk on Chestnut Ridge Road. Cathy McGrath, Ramapo Police Department’s Dog Control Officer, was able to pick up the hawk and place it into a cage. The hawk was then transported to the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital. After an examination leading to the diagnosis of a bruised left leg, the hawk was brought to the Trailside Museums and Zoo at Bear Mountain State Park, where it will rehabilitate before being released back into the wild.
